Tasks and Responsibilities

As Bid Specialist, your task is to coordinate and lead the circular (buy or lease) tenders for Flex IT. You are the success factor for our sales teams with the creation of high-quality tenders evolving the delivery and maintenance of our Circular IT hardware products and solutions. Together with your internal stakeholders and the global sales leadership team, you will be a key driver of our very ambitious revenue growth in the coming year. The Bid Specialist is responsible for scanning the market for potential tenders. Once a decision is made to respond to a tender, you are responsible for gathering all needed information and documents as well as a timely and correct bid. The commercial side of the tender will be taken care off by the Sales Team lead in the local market. As Bid Specialist you are the trailblazer that starts the Tender Desk at Flex IT. We expect the team to grow when the number of tenders are increasing and from that point you will be responsible to grow the Bid Team.

Excellent command of English and one of the other European languages (Italian, German, French, Dutch) is required for this position. Any additional language skills are a bonus!

 

Your tasks phase 1 (till 31-12-2021):

  • Help Set up tender desk together with external consultants
  • Set up processes, tender text, communication, legal impact etc.

Your Tasks phase 2 (from 01-01-2022):

  • You will scan the market for fitting Tenders in all our European focus countries
  • You built strong relationships with the bid teams from our Reseller network
  • You will take on the coordination and management of the complete bid procedure.
  • You manage and track progress on the data and documents that need to be provided by the Team Lead that is working with you on the tender, including managing deadlines and expectations to the senior management.
  • Validating the quality of the incoming documents and indicating what still needs to be improved to use this information in the tender.
  • Analyzing the customer demand from the tender documents and converting this into actions and preconditions.
  • Together with the team, determining the right approach route and ensuring the right tone of voice in the tender documents.
  • Writing commercial texts, which translates the technical aspects into benefits for the client.
  • Preparing and collecting all required tender documents and submitting them on time.
  • Supporting in all subsequent steps after tender submission until award.

Our customers are (international) municipalities/governments & Corporate End Users. We expect that for the first 6 month we will primarily work as “Sub-Contractor” to our channel partners.

Thanks to your experience with complex sales processes or tenders and your commercial insight, you are independently able to make connections that ultimately lead to winning tenders!

This is on your CV:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree.
  • 3+ years of working experience within a project-based sales organization
  • Excellent command of English (must) and as bonus any of the following languages: German, French or Dutch

You can oversee various disciplines, such as technology, logistics, project management, and legal, and bring them to a successful proposal/bid.
