Tasks and Responsibilities

Together with the colleagues in the two departments that report to him/her, the Accounting Manager makes sure the whole financial administration is complete, accurate, consistent and compliant with legislation.

The Accounting Manager is reporting to the Finance Manager.

In this role

  • You are responsible for the Accounts Payable (3 FTE of which 1 team lead) and General Ledger accounting department (3 FTE) located in Leiden

 

  • You lead up the Accounts Payable department, which is responsible for
  • Processing all incoming invoices,
  • The related approval flows,
  • Executing the payment process
  • Maintain the accounts payable administration

 

  • You lead up the General Ledger department which is responsible for:
  • The monthly closing for 15 group entities and the reporting in our consolidation package
  • Improving the quality of the financial administration, reporting and analysis
  • Assessing the integrity and correctness of the bookkeeping and sub administrations,
  • The reconciliations of sub ledgers with general ledger, including intercompany balances and take corrective measures to solve differences
  • CBS reporting
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Review and approval of the statutory annual accounts for most of our foreign entities

 

  • Key user for our ERP system (currently Navision)
  • Assist in ERP implementation which is planned to start in 2022
  • Together with the General Ledger team you perform the monthly consolidation and report the output to stakeholders
  • Together with the General Ledger team, you have a leading role in preparing the group consolidated annual accounts

Skills & Competences

  • You possess a relevant degree in Finance and Accounting or similar
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading a financial department
  • Capable of influencing and driving decisions through the finance departments
  • Strong organizational skills in providing a structured work environment
  • Strong communication skills in all levels
  • You are pro-active and a problem solver
  • You are hands-on, solution-oriented and able to convince others of your professional judgement
  • You have experience in working in an international environment
  • Experience with ERP systems (MS Navision), Excel, CRM systems, Invoicing software, BI-Tooling and Consolidation systems
  • Knowledge of Dutch GAAP reporting regulations
  • You are fluent in both Dutch and English
  • Experience in financial audit with a Big 4 audit firm is a plus
